The village of Albestii de Arges is located in the northwest side of Arges County and is a strong territorial administrative unit, with 5671 inhabitants who are employed in various branches and sectors of local and county economy. The village location in a hilly area (the Carpathian foothills) offers favorable conditions to develop horticulture and agriculture, which are the sectors where most of the labor force is involved. Albestii de Arges borders the villages of Cicanesti and Corbeni to the north, the villages of Danului Valley and Iasului Valley to the south, the villages of Musatesti to the east and the village of Danului Valley to the west. The nearest city is Curtea de Arges, located some 10 km south of our village. Also the county capital of Pitesti is located some 46 km from our village.
Our jurisdiction extends to the following villages: Albestii Ungureni, Albestii Pamanteni, Dobrotu, Bratesti, Doblea, Florieni and Dumiresti
Current status of our infrastructure: The National Road 7C (DN 7C) crosses our village from the North to the South over a length of about 7 km. DN 7C links our village with the municipalities of Curtea de Arges, Pitesti and now provides a link to Sibiu county. Roads: DC 259 to Bratesti, DC 247 (for Cicanesti), DC 252 (for Drobotu), DC 258 (for Cerbureni), DC 260 (for Dumiresti), DC 263 (for Florieni).
Brief History of the village of Albestii de Arges: Life and work of the inhabitants of this region was closely linked and influenced by the existence of the city of Curtea de Arges, located at a distance of about 8 to 10 km. Curtea de Arges was the first capital of one of the old Principalities of Romania, namely Wallachia, also the place where the first National Churh of Wallachia was established by Prince Nicholas Alexander in 1359.
Ever since then, the Monastery of Arges had a direct influence on the material and spiritual life of all the villages that make Albesti Village today.
The first historical document that mentions the names of villages that compose together Albesti Village was emitted by the Royal Court in Targoviste, on April 4, 1523, by Radu of Afumati, which strengthens the Arges Monastery mastery of villages, ponds, mills.
